Naqshbandiya.in (Website dedicated to Khanqa Shah Ghulam Ali RA)WELCOME TO OUR SITE "The Naqshbandi Silsila is one of the Sufi orders that claims to trace its direct spiritual lineage/chain (silsilah) to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), through Harzat Abu Bakr Siddique, the first caliph. In contrast, other Sufi orders (turuq) trace their lineage through Hazrat Ali, the fourth caliph. The lineage is not tied to a country, family or political appointment, but is a direct heart to heart transmission. It is also considered that the appointed sheikh will be in some communication with past sheikhs. At one time, there will of course be many other sheikhs, who owe their bay'ah "spiritual allegiance" to the current master of the silsilah. The name has changed over the years. Originally called "al-Siddiqiyya", around the times of Hazrat Bayazeed al-Bistami to Hazrat Abdul Khaliq al-Ghijdawani it was called al-Tayfuriyya, and from the times of Hazrat 'Abdul Khaliq al-Ghijdawani up to Shah Naqshband it was called the "Khwajagaan". From the time of Sayyed Bahauddin Shah Naqshband it has been called Naqshbandiyah Silsilah Naqshbandiyyah Mujaddediyah Order/Chain This is the most significant branch of Naqshbandi order found today. It is named after Hazrat Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (971 Hijri-1034 Hijri), who was entitled as "Mujaddid Alf-e-Saani" (The Reformer of the next 1000 years). His spiritual master was Hazrat Khwaja Baaqibillah, a re-nowned spiritual leader, who came from Central Asia and laid the foundation of Naqshbandi order in Indian subcotinent. Sheikh Ahmed Sirhindi was one of his caliphs and was appointed as successor by his spiritual master. He (Sheikh Sirhindi) established his khanqah in Sirhind, Punjab. The order further spread through various khanqahs and one of the Khanqah of this order gained immense fame was Khanqah Shah Ghulam Ali. The site owner is the current head/mutawalli of this Khanqah."
