Breezes of the Elect are happy to announce the launch of our latest book 'Pearls from the Diwān of Imam al-Ḥaddad - Book Two of the Breezes of the Elect Series'. ImamʿAbdullāh binʿAlawī al-Ḥaddad is widely accepted as the Mujaddid (Renewer) of the 12th Islamic century and the Quṭb (Spiritual Pole) of his age. His works are read and studied worldwide and continue to be a means of calling people to Allah. His influence is still felt widely, particularly in Tarim where his poetry is recited daily. Following the launch of the first book in the series in 2023, we have been working on a first of its kind compilation - a selection of 47 stunning poems from the Diwān of Imam al-Ḥaddad, translated into clear English by Shaykh Tahir Anwar and Shaykh Amin Buxton, complete with the transliteration and extensive end notes. Through this new publication, we intend to introduce English speakers to the richness of Imam al-Haddād's Diwān and the knowledge and beauty contained within it. Through this new publication, we intend to introduce English speakers to the richness of his Diwān and the knowledge and beauty contained within it with a selection of 47 of his blessed poems.
This compilation touches upon themes such as love of Allah and His Prophet ﷺ, taqwā (God-consciousness) and waraʿ (scrupulousness). The Imam also extensively speaks about the love he has for the pious predecessors, lamenting over their passing.
This selection of 47 stunning poems from the Diwān of Imam al-Ḥaddād has been translated into clear English by Shaykh Tahir Anwar and Shaykh Amin Buxton, complete with transliteration and extensive end notes.
