The scholars have been honored with the writing of the blessed Prophetic biography because of what it contains of wisdom and lessons. For example, Shaykh al-Barzanji r wrote a Prophetic biography and named it ‘Iqd al-Jawhar fi Mawlid al-Nabi al-Azhar (The Jewelled Necklace of the Resplendent Prophet’s Birth) and it is commonly known as the Mawlid al-Barzanji.
Sayyid Muḥammad ʿUthmān Sirr al-Khatm, one of the students of Sidi Aḥmad b. Idrīs r, wrote a Prophetic biography , al-Asrar al-Rabbaniyya, which is known as the Mawlid al-Uthmani. These books are written in such a beautiful way that no one is able to achieve this except for those who have mastery in the Arabic language and have abundant knowledge of the religious sciences. As our Shaykh, Sayyidi Ṣāliḥ al-Jaʿfarī r is from the greatest of the scholars of his time, and the most eloquent of the poets of his era, he did not hesitate in giving us something like this and wrote for us a Prophetic, Muḥammadan biography and named it al-Aqmār al-Nūrāniyya (The Luminous Moons).

Shaykh Salih al-Jafari was one of the most famous scholars of the Azhar, the Muslim world’s premier institution of religious learning and its most authoritative voice, in the 20th century. He was also the imam of its mosque and a famous teacher and spiritual guide. He authored 15 works on various Islamic sciences, edited many others, and composed 12 volumes of poetry.
